Best travel camera backpack for 2-body kits

A two-body travel kit — say a Sony A7 IV and an A7 III, one wearing a 24-70mm F2.8 and one a 70-200mm F2.8 — is where compartment size stops being optional. The 70-200 alone is around 200 mm long, so the backpack’s camera compartment has to clear that length in some orientation and leave room for a second body and a standard zoom.

What separates the bags that fit

• Full-height camera compartments (Lowepro ProTactic, Shimoda Explore, Tenba Axis) give the vertical clearance a 70-200 needs when stood on end.
• Access matters on the road. Rear-panel access keeps the straps clean against your back; side access lets you grab a body without taking the bag off.
• The 70-200 is the tell. If a bag’s interior can’t clear ~21 cm in any direction, it will be “tight” or worse for this kit no matter how the litres read.
